Ultimate Tactics is an isometric turn-based tactics game where you take control of a young knight to fight battles, complete quests, find loot, and hire new recruits. The game looks great and gameplay is top notch, though the controls aren't perfectly streamlined (particularly needing to click the facing arrow after every move) making it a bit slower paced than it needs to be. Apart from that a definite thumbs up!
Our Rating: 4 / 5
From the makers of the Ultimate Defense series, comes this strategy RPG spin off.
You begin the game as Kronus, a young aspiring knight, who is asked to aid his grandfather in getting rid of some critters that appeared in his yard.
Choose your missions and travel through the land unlocking hidden treasures, engaging in battles, visiting cities, and looking for new recruits to join your party. Good luck on your quest!
All that you need is your Mouse. Visit cities for missions, shops, guilds and to restore your health by sleeping at the inn. Join guilds and find new recruits to join your party of warriors.
After finding a treasure, visit Grandpa to learn how to lock pick. You will be given a manual that can be accessed from your item inventory at any time.

FUCKING ADS and stupid links. I just wasted 2 hours of my life playing your awesome game, only to have it completely whiped out do to an inadvertant click of a link. Please make your links open in a new window instead of ruining everyones game. DAMN!

A fire scorpion turned into a medium chest without dying…the chest scorpion attacked me, and when I picked up the chest, the game froze with it was the scorpion chest's turn to attack…bizarre.

Attractive graphics but gameplay leaves a lot to be desired. I'd like to see a way to speed up the enemies attack rounds, for instance, and why do i have to click to choose which direction i'm going to be facing if when i attack i end up facing that direction anyway? A wasted effort/waste of time.
Also, as a new player, i cannot figure out how to access the guide book for the lock pick, so i cannot get into the chests at all. (And why can i not use the lock pick *after* defeating the monsters in a given level?)
All in all a fun game but it needs polishing, IMO.

Buggy. Very buggy. But, not a bad game overall. If several issues were addressed, mp/hp items not working mainly, then the game would be a lot better.

Inspired by Final Fantasy Tactics, good effort!
Some obvious issues:
- Keyboard shortcuts would expedite combat significantly instead of hunting and clicking
- After you've moved your character and made an attack the system should not irritate you with needing to click End Turn
- If the adjacent squares next to a character are occupied (or otherwise blocked with rocks/shrubs/etc) the Move option should be unusable (grayed out)

Love the game, lots of bugs though. On 'super Venom' level a scorpion turned into a treasure chest, I collected, then it was the scorpions turn and the game could not continue. Also my chars seem to miss goes or cannot attack for no apparent reason. Please fix them cos I love the game but find it frustrating when these things happen as I have to start levels again.

I'm having trouble with my Kage character. When I use the flame attack, the number of hits is blue, not red. It doesn't take any power/health away from the enemy. However, I do lose my 6 MP. Is this a bug? Or did I do something to change the way he works? Is there a fix? I've had to close the browser and restart several times because of glitches in the game. Thanks for the help….

I can't stand the lock picking. Definitely the most annoying part of the game. I succeeded to break the ultra lock pick on medium treasures. Second sucky thing is the fact that I need too click 1000 times to get my units to face the correct way.

Ok… so the Kage thing just sort of worked itself out. Not sure what happened. But now, I can't advance – I try the Cave Ogre mission and it just never shows up. The caves in the volcano seems to have disappeared… I'm guessing that I need to access that area. I just seem to be in a silly loop – I can defeat all the levels, but I can't advance to anything new. Pretty boring at this point.

It's good, I guess, but hardly original. Fire Embelm anyone?
Forget this game

Don't waste your time with this POS. It takes FOREVER to progress, and gets exponentially longer as you go. It's buggy, and slow paced, and as you go, you just get the same enemies with different colors.
Poison will destroy you. You can use antidotes, but then you'll just get poisoned again the next round.
There are tons of bugs: screen glitches, spawn glitches, stupidly simple glitches: like using a mana potion doesn't cause your mana to go up!
Seriously, I want my time back.

PWNAGE! ITS FIRE EMBLEM WITHOUT THE COST!!!!!
WTF???

Seriously they want you to open 50 chest to get an Item? this game would be better as a point based game, after the battles you get however many points that you put where you want, and with a lot less clicking. However for a free internet game not bad at all

Takes too long to play, hp/mp items don't do anything making Kage more or less worthless. Archer character refuses to face the right way so her damage is limited. If movement is obstructed by impassible objects (esp. rivers), the 'shortest path' algorithm gets goofed and will force you characters to walk in the wrong direction from then on. If you've got a lot of time to kill, go ahead and play it, but otherwise, I wouldn't bother.

I think this is pretty incredible considering it is a flash game. It nails the basic tactics-genre mechanics; and I think that it has well balanced gameplay regarding char levels and the skills they gain, weapons and enemies.
I didn't have quite as many bugs as others mentioned, however, I did seem to have a memory leak, forcing me to save and then hit refresh every 10 or 15 minutes, as framerate declined, I had some graphical issues, a handful of item issues, and general slowdown. Nothing a refresh couldn't handle, but still something to be addressed (as well as the useless direction arrows at the end of each turn).

Game is good, but the it has A LOT of kinks that need to be fixed.
Word of Advice: save the game ever chance you get.
Nice job……..but………for the love of Allah…………..fix the shit.

Way to steal FFTactics and change nothing lol. This is a bad rip of an already available title.
