Chronotron is a totally fun puzzle/platformer (about a robot that goes back in time for some reason) where you will need to cooperate with past versions of yourself to beat each level. All your actions are recorded so when you use your time capsule to travel back to the start of the level you'll see your past self (or selves) doing what you did on the last run. This lets you do things like hold open doors, hit levers, or pick up crates to give a future self a boost! A real gem of a game, definitely worth a playthrough!
Our Rating: 4.5 / 5
It’s about a robot that goes back in time for some reason. (His best friend is a talking pie!) Use your time machine to interact with past versions of yourself in this puzzle/platformer! Chronotron was one of the 2008 PAX 10 independant games showcased at the Penny Arcade Expo, and has been featured on G4TV's X-Play, The Wall Street Journal, and the Associated Press.
Chronotron is a 35 level puzzle/platformer. Each level contains a unique physics-based puzzle that must be solved by interacting with past versions of your character. As you play, the game records all of your movements. When you use the Time Pod to travel back to the beginning of the level, you see a past version of yourself doing exactly what you did before entering the pod. You can create as many copies of yourself as you need to solve the puzzle, but be careful not to change the past too much. If you interfere with a past self's ability to return to the Time Pod, you cause a PARADOX and must restart the level! Puzzle elements include pressure buttons, gates, lifts, balancing scales, see-saws, weighted crates, disappearing floors, moving floors, smashers, and laser tripwires. Some levels include a one-use item that lets the player freeze time.
